Kathmandu Living Labs' Executive Director, Dr. Nama Raj Budhathoki, is currently in Geneva as a panelist in a conference, 'Engaging Affected And Vulnerable Populations.' The session is designed to focus on strengthening linkages between the humanitarian sector and the affected communities in order to ensure the effectiveness of protection, assistance and preparedness activities.
Although it is broadly agreed that communities affected by crisis must be at the centre of humanitarian action, it is generally observed that absence of clear two-way communication with marginalized groups and an understanding of their specific needs in times of emergencies, put them at greater life-threatening risks. The program will focus on, among others, six of such proposed challenges and solutions. Kathmandu Living Labs' work after the April 25.
